But in truth, Tà Lang isn’t far at all. It’s a small mountain village home to the Cơ Tu ethnic community, located just 35 km west of downtown Đà Nẵng. You can cycle to Tà Lang – Giàn Bí via one of two scenic routes: Route 1: Ride from Đà Nẵng along the extended Nguyễn Tất Thành Street. At the intersection with Provincial Road 601, turn right, go through Hòa Liên, and continue to the Hòa Bắc Commune People’s Committee. From there, it’s another 8 km to the stream. Route 2: Head out of Đà Nẵng via Nam Ô Bridge, turn left onto Ngô Xuân Thu Street, then cycle through the tranquil villages of Trường Định, Nam Yên, and Phò Nam. Cross the Phò Nam Bridge to reach the Hòa Bắc Commune, then continue on the same path as Route 1. Both routes are stunning and perfect for either a mountain bike or a road bike. But if you choose the second route, you’ll be rewarded with peaceful countryside scenes: the emerald Cu Đê River, winding roads weaving through hills, endless fields of sugarcane and corn – it’s a dreamlike journey. Tà Lang – Giàn Bí Stream itself lies at the confluence of the Nam and Bắc Rivers. Its ancient rock formations, carved by millions of years of water erosion, look like giant natural bonsai landscapes. The raw, majestic beauty of this place is sure to leave you speechless. If you love nature and ever cycle to Tà Lang – Giàn Bí, I’m sure you’ll want to return. I’ve biked here many times, and each visit brings a sense of peace and connection with the wild. Today, I returned once again with a few friends from the Đà Nẵng Cycling Group – and we managed to capture some wonderful moments from this inspiring ride. Mr. Old Man, December 2017
