Must the country name “SINGAPORE” be stated in the field “port of loading”, i.e., PORT OF LOADING: SINGAPORE, SINGAPORE? Thank you.Duyen———— ANSWER Hi, According to paragraph E6 (f) ISBP 745, when a credit indicates the port of loading by also stating the country in which the port of loading is located, the name of the country need not be stated. The same rule applies to the case when a credit indicates the port of discharge by also stating the country in which the port of discharge is located. That is to say, the name of the country need not be stated. The BL in question is acceptable. Kind regards,Mr. Old Man
