Bill of lading shows: – Place of receipt: HO CHI MINH PORT, VIET NAM – Pre-carriage: HANJIN PORT ADELAIDE 011W – Port of loading: HO CHI MINH PORT, VIET NAM – Vessel/Voy: NYK THESEUS 0029W – Port of discharge: JEBEL ALI PORT, DUBAI – On board notation: LADEN ON BOARD THE VESSEL 02 APR 2014 I think the above on board notation is not correct. According to paragraph E6 (c)(ii) ISBP 745, the correct notation should be as follows: LADEN ON BOARD THE VESSEL NYK THESEUS 0029W AT HO CHI MINH PORT, VIET NAM 02 APR 2014 Am I correct? Thank you. Best regards, DU ————- ANSWER Hi, You are correct. The correct on board notation in this case will be: SHIPPED ON BOARD NYK THESEUS 0029W AT HO CHI MINH PORT, VIETNAM ON 02 APRIL 2014 Please note that where a bill of lading is pre-printed “received for shipment” or “shipped on board” with a place of receipt AND an indication of a means of pre-carriage OR with an indication of a means of pre-carriage only, a dated on board notation is required with the name of the vessel and the port of loading. Paragraph E6 (c) (ii) ISBP 745 is based on ICC Document 470/1128 rev final “ICC Recommendations in respect of On Board Notations”. For your convenience and reference, please find attached below Bill of Lading Chart quoted from Document 470/1128 rev final: Kind regards, Mr. Old Man
