I guess you want to know if such a cargo receipt is acceptable or not. Exactly speaking, the term “cargo receipt” is not covered in UCP 600. However, based on related articles in UCP 600 (19 – 25), I wish to answer as follows: The date of issuance of the cargo receipt will be deemed to be the date of receipt. However, if the cargo receipt includes the date on which the cargo is actually received, this date will be deemed the date of receipt. Your description does not expressly indicate if the cargo receipt includes the actual date of receipt of the cargo. If it does, then it is acceptable, and if it does not, then the date of issuance of the cargo receipt will be deemed to be the date of receipt though the cargo is actually received on a later date.
