A FUNNY QUERY

Hi all
Long time for me since I wrote in the forum, maybe because we had a tough few months with our new system in the bank, and for our LC Dept. specifically:
LOL , its funny with my client, he opened an LC, the bene. in Turkey,
Now applicant wants to cancel the LC. He requested me to cancel it, and I did intimate it to the beneficiary via MT707 stating ' Please cancel the LC and provide us the consent of the beneficiary'.
We received a reply from the Bene. Bank stating that the Beneficiary refused to cancel the LC :P.
Now I said to my customer that you have several ways to avoid this LC which are as follows :
1) Try to squeeze my mind >.< when documents are received and try to find a discrepancy.
2) When goods are received before payment is made, the applicant should find any reason in the goods of any defective parts to avoid the payment :D:D..
My applicant said the following
' Please dear, I dont want to go to international jurisdiction bla bla, just try a way to cancel the LC now'
Now the professional must help me, what I can do to help the applicant????
These Turkey manufacturers are pain in the xxx and applicant crying at my desk each day.
Please help.

Funny?
Hi,
A good banker should never advise his customer to try to find a discrepancy in the documents or something wrong with the goods to avoid the payment.
It is the issuing bank that is responsible to determine whether the documents presented are complying or discrepant. If the documents are complying the issuing bank must honour in spite of the fact that the goods shipped are defective. Please note banks deal with documents not with goods, services or performance to which the documents may relate (UCP 600 Article 5).
Your customer is not funny at all.
Best regards,
Nguyen Huu Duc

You warlord or whatever,
As a foreign trade specialist and very interested in l/c operations, i feel pitty for a banker like you for demanding such a cheap help.
As a Turkish citizen, you are the only damned pain in the xxx, and i am asking the moderator to kick you out from this high level forum…
