QUERY FROM C.V
Is C/O presented shows invoice number and date different from that in other documents discrepant?
My colleagues say it is discrepant, but I do not think so. My reasoning is as follows: (i) Invoice and date are not required to indicate on other documents; and (ii) It is possible that the seller is not the supplier but the midleman and the C/O may be granted based on the supplier’s invoice. This practice is quite common.
I’m looking forward to your comment.

Hi,
With regards to your query on the number of invoice shown on the certificate of origin I would like to forward you my answer which is based on the conclusion of ICC Opinion TA585rev as follows:
1) Where a party shown as the consignor is different from the beneficiary, it would not be unreasonable to receive a certificate of origin that provides reference to an invoice number and date that is not consistent with the invoice presented by the beneficiary, provided the other data complies with that in the credit and in other documents.
2) Where the beneficiary is shown as the consignor on the certificate of origin, reference to an invoice number that is different from that presented by the beneficiary would be inconsistent and discrepant.
So, you are correct if the C/O presented falls into the first scenario.
Best regards
