For a split second, I thought I was seeing things: in just the first month of the year, I had already “produced” 55 posts—each one costing no small amount of time, effort, and… brain cells. The interesting part is that this time, I learned to balance the content so Facebook wouldn’t feel too dry. For every one or two English posts and Q&As on international payments and trade finance—the kind that are “hard to chew”—I slipped in one Vietnamese post full of random, lighthearted stories. Unexpectedly, those “nonsense” posts turned out to be far more popular. Even more interesting: my posts rarely receive many LIKES. But when I looked at the viewers and views statistics, I realized that most of my followers are silent readers. The numbers say it all: • The English professional posts, though “hard to digest,” average over 250 viewers and more than 500 views per post. • The Vietnamese “nonsense” posts, however… far exceed that. For example, the post “Credit Stories from the Subsidy Era”, as of 19:45 on 31.01.2026, had already attracted 4,800 visitors and 8,420 views. Compared with the “academic” ones, the difference is truly… worlds apart. So it turns out that writing for fun connects more easily than writing to be “proper.” And that makes sense: even I sometimes feel tired rereading academic topics—how could someone scrolling Facebook after dinner not feel the same? A start like this at the beginning of the year is already a joy. I only hope I will stay healthy and inspired enough to keep “producing” one or two little “works” each day—killing time, and giving readers something light and cheerful—one daily dose: if it doesn’t grow sideways, at least it grows upward Joking aside, if one day Facebook ever created a “contribution award” for Facebookers who write often and write with heart, maybe I would even dare to apply… and ask Mr. Mark to approve a certificate. Hang it proudly in the living room—who knows, it might be good for showing off a little! Playing Facebook like this… I must be a little crazy ___ Mr. Old Man
