QUESTION

Dear Old Man,

We have met this case, please give us your opinion. Thank you so much.

Quote
+ L/C issued by Bank ABC Hongkong on 21 Aug 20XX, stipulated as follows:

Field 45A: Description of goods: Frozen seafoods with purchase order No. 56

Field 46A: Documents required:

1/ Commercial Invoice must be signed by the beneficiary in one invoice per order.

2/ Packing List per container must be separated from invoice.

3/ Certificate of Origin GSP form A per order has to be presented by the beneficiary.

4/ One original FCR issued by DHL or agents acting on behalf of DHL.

+ The beneficiary will export 2 containers in the same time and in the same vessels.

+ The beneficiary intends to present us two separate sets of documents.

Unquote

To our minds, the beneficiary must present two separate sets of documents except Commercial invoice and Certificate of origin. What do you think about our request?

Thanks again for your opinion.

ANSWER

Hi,

It should be understood from your description that Invoice is to be presented in one invoice per order and that Packing List is to be presented separately per container.

I see that there’s no need to present two separate sets of documents  if the two containers are shipped under ONE ORDER, i.e. Order No. 56.  If this is the case, then one set of documents with two separate packing lists (each for one container) is OK.

Best regards,

Mr. Old Man

THANK YOU MAIL FROM H.H

Thank you very much for your prompt answer.

After thinking it over, the beneficiary has decided to present one set of documents with 2 separate packing lists for 2 containers as your suggestion.
Now, there are a lot of risks in international payment. Therefore, your opinions are very useful for our decisions.

Thanks again and best regards.
